Civics students analyzed the Preamble of the U.S. Constitution and devised ways to remember and better understand each part of this very important document. They used the IB Learner Profiles to determine the activities they would accomplish. They had many choices from singing, drawing, writing higher level conceptual and debatable questions. Students choose to work individually, in pairs, or in small groups. |

Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders participated in the STEM Lab Day at Oceana Naval Base in Virginia Beach. Students shared with visitors some the amazing things happening at Plaza. Students from around the area engaged with robots, virtual reality glasses, electrical circuits, and experiments with kinetic and potential energy. The Navy provided an aerial show too. Not sure who had more fun, the visiting students or Plaza's Trojans!
Sixth Grade students used their scientific minds to observe physical and chemical properties of unknown mixtures. They had to provide evidence to support their hypothesis. The teams mixed different liquids with their powder mixture and even applied heat to see chemical changes.
