Old Donation celebrated dance with their Spring Concert. Plaza's eighth grade students were recognized for their years of dance with ODS. The program included Love & Freedom numbers from earlier in the year along with creative student designed pieces inspired by architecture. Students' hard work was evidenced in their performances. Amazing job!

Sixth grade students used the ATL skill of critical thinking to identify shared human experiences and practiced empathy. They worked in groups to analyze characters in a fiction story. They had to think about the character's thoughts, actions, and motivations. Their group added details to a character graphic organizer and then shared out with the class. Great discussions were had!
Grade 8 students used the ATL of creative thinking to fabricate a heating device to cook their smores. Through their knowledge of convection, radiation and conduction students designed "ovens" that melted the chocolate for their sweet treat.
Our 8th grade gifted students shadowed students at Green Run High School. Plaza students were greeted by Mr. Tarkenton, the principal, went to classes with their guides and even ate lunch at the high school. They truly enjoyed to experience, and the student guides were very helpful. The trip was "enlightening" and "appreciated". Thanks Ms. Fok, Green Run's Gifted Resource teacher!
Acuity Club met to stretch the members' brains. They performed a design challenge, played games and worked in the STEM Lab. It is always great to get such a talented group of students together!
Seventh grade students used their IB Approaches to Learning skills of critical thinking and collaboration to create a model of DNA. Through research articles, students had to synthesize written information to form a DNA strand model.
